HJA is seeking expressions of interest (EOIs) from individuals or groups who would like to be part of a breakout session at the Health Justice 2025 national conference. You can submit an EOI to:
- Develop a breakout session or workshop
- Give a presentation as part of a breakout session
- Present your work on a poster
Submissions will be used to help construct breakout sessions and the conference program.

Submit an expression of interest
We invite submissions that respond to the health justice 2025 conference theme, Power in partnership, and align with one of the conference streams.
The conference streams are:
- Real-world insights: In this stream, learn directly from effective health justice partnerships about what works and why. Designed for newcomers and experienced practitioners alike, join us for sessions showcasing the building and maintenance of health justice partnerships, and celebrate the wins, insights and diversity.
- Deepening expertise: Join us for sessions where even experienced practitioners will learn something new. Explore practical, skill-based sessions, learn from outside the health and legal sectors, and participate in discussions on power in partnership.
- Change makers: Is your organisation leading the way? Are you a changemaker of the future? Join us for these forward-thinking sessions on topics including innovative funding arrangements, artificial intelligence, workforce wellbeing and maintaining hope and resilience.
We encourage sessions and presentations that are grounded in the lived experience of those receiving services and care and also the humanity of those providing it. We also encourage a focus on hearing and valuing voices less heard and would like all conveners, presenters and attendees to engage with the notion that there is an ‘expert in every chair’ at the conference.

Submission steps:
- Consider the HJ25 conference theme, Power in partnership, and how this is relevant to your proposal.
- Identify which conference stream your EOI is likely to fall into and think about how you will explain the connection between your session or presentation idea, and the selected stream. It is possible that your session or presentation idea may be relevant for more than one stream – you can indicate this in your submission, and we will then consider which stream maybe be ideal, as we balance the whole program.
- Review the EOI form online here or by clicking the button below.
- Draft your submission in Word to avoid losing your submission due to internet or browser failure.
- Submit your submission using the EOI form online by the Friday 9 May 2025.
The conference is a fantastic opportunity to really get to meet colleagues, friends, and other practitioners and professionals across both the legal profession as well as health. These events are so important because they really start the conversation around what our respective professions need in the future, and what our community needs.

You are more than welcome to submit one idea via the EOI submissions form.
If a topic doesn’t fit neatly into one stream, that’s ok! You can choose more than one stream on the Expression of Interest form.
Submissions will be used to help construct breakout sessions and the conference program. Please note, all presenters will still need to pay for registration for the conference.
