Health justice partnership: Access to justice meets health equity

A new article in the Alterative Law Journal from Health Justice Australia’s Research Director Suzie Forell and Policy Advocacy Lead Emily McCarron shows how health justice partnership offers a broader view of access to justice as a tool for achieving health equity and reducing inequality.

Access to justice research is all about looking at the ways that disadvantage and inequality contribute to unmet legal need, which in turn creates more disadvantage and inequality. One way to disrupt this vicious cycle is to get the people trapped in it some legal help, as well as other forms of support. That’s where health justice partnership comes in.

Read the article to find out how accessible legal help contributes to health and wellbeing outcomes, and the potential of health justice partnership as part of the shared challenge of responding to health and social inequity.
