A quiet revolution is taking place across Australia that is transforming the way some of the most vulnerable people in our community access legal services.
Health justice partnerships are part of a growing movement that is seeing health and legal services working collaboratively to address a previously unmet legal need. Yet, until now, there has been no reliable data about the number, nature and scope of these partnerships.
In Mapping a new path: the health justice landscape in Australia, 2017, Health Justice Australia has created a foundational profile of the health justice landscape, outlining which services are collaborating and where, how they’re working together, who they serve and the assistance they provide.
Critically, this work provides a baseline from which we can track the growth, evolution and outcomes of services on the health justice landscape.
A suite of resources is available based on the data collected for this report, including a map of health justice partnerships across the country, a webinar presentation from Health Justice Australia on the mapping data, and lessons from practitioners in forming strong and effective partnerships.
